Sweet Life Bakeshop donates delicious Fruit Torte

Asheville Twestival would like to thank Sweet Life Bakeshop for donating a spectacular Fruit Torte for our cakewalk. Not only does the torte taste like it was made in a heavenly oven (one of the organizers tried a piece!) it was made with ingredients from Saturday’s Farmer’s Market. The dessert has Italian plums, blackberries and peaches from family-owned McConnell Farms in Hendersonville, NC.

Sweet Life Bakeshop pastries are sold only at the Asheville City Market. This provides owner, Cynthia Pierce, with the perfect opportunity to meet and interact directly with local farmers and discerning customers who share her passion for seasonal and high quality produce and ingredients.

The baked goods she offers change on a weekly basis, depending on which local fruits, vegetables and artisanal products (cheese, honey, etc.) have tempted her the most. On any give week you might find gresh vegetable pies, herb shortbread cookies, fruit or cheese scones, muffins or tarts, or even some seasonally-inspired bread pudding!
